Los Angeles Education Corps

The Los Angeles Education Corps (LAEC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 2008, overseeing both College Bridge Academy (CBA) charter school and The Education Corps (TEC) charter school. These charter schools operate multiple campuses in the urban core of Greater LA, collaborating with high-quality nonprofits to provide wraparound services to their students. Partnering nonprofits include Conservation Corps agencies, YouthBuild programs, and Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs. Importantly, all LAEC campuses hold accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Situated in economically disadvantaged areas of Los Angeles, known for crime, gangs, and underperforming schools, LAEC is dedicated to offering seven small learning communities, each accommodating approximately 100 to 130 students. These programs serve as a second chance for young individuals who seek to obtain their high school diploma. LAEC welcomes both students who didn’t complete high school for various reasons and those looking for alternatives to the under-resourced schools in their neighborhoods.

The mission of the Los Angeles Education Corps is to design programs that cater to the educational, vocational, and personal needs of underserved youth and young adults, ultimately leading to transformative changes in their lives, families, and generations.

LAEC’s CNA Training Program is ideal for individuals aged 18-24 interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. This 14-week program, certified by the Department of Public Health Services, allows participants to earn a CNA credential while attending an on-site high school. If you’re keen on achieving both your high school diploma and a CNA certification simultaneously, this program could be a valuable choice.

For further information or inquiries about the TEC Pico Union CNA Training Program, you can contact Kendra LaRose, the Director of CTE Programs, at (323) 316-2125, ext. 1420, or via email at [email protected].

LAEC is dedicated to providing diverse opportunities and support for young adults seeking to build a successful future. Whether you’re interested in healthcare or other career pathways, LAEC offers programs that cater to various educational and vocational needs.
